NYSUT Retirees of Western New York Legends Award

Nomination Information

This award honors members who have provided, throughout their careers, significant service and leadership to their local and state affiliates, as well as to their retiree council. In making a selection, the WNY Retiree Legends Committee will consider length, breadth and depth of service in conjunction with the information provided on the nomination form. The selected honoree(s) will be recognized in the spring at the annual Retiree Conference and the WNY Leadership Awards Dinner.

Nomination procedure

Nominations will be accepted from:

  • NYSUT Retirees of WNY Board of Trustees Officers
  • NYSUT WNY Retiree Coalition Council 1, 2, 3 & 44 Officers
  • NYSUT WNY Retiree Coalition Council Legends Committee Members
  • Any NYSUT Retiree.

 

Nomination forms will be made available by September 1 of each year. The deadline for submission will be December 31 of each year.

Nominations should be submitted using the form included.

Please comment, at least briefly, on the following page on each of the criteria listed below.  Incomplete forms will not be considered.

Criteria

The retiree nominee must:

  1. have significant years of union involvement.
  2. have demonstrated outstanding length, depth and breadth of service.
  3. have held leadership positions within the local and/or state affiliates.
  4. have acted as a mentor, coach or role model for other union members.
